Josh has over 35 years experience playing and coaching baseball in Portage, Poynette, Pardeeville, LaCrosse, and Pittsfield, MA. Josh is a former Varsity Baseball Head Coach and coaches various youth teams in the Summer and Fall. He has served as a Site Director for US Baseball Academy and a Station Leader for the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Academy. He has molded his coaching style and techniques after learning from and working with players and coaches such as Tom House, John Madden, Matt Deggs and Kyle Nelson. Josh continues to be a student of the game, picking up on the latest trends and incorporating them where he sees fit for the benefit of the young player. As a 30 year veteran umpire Josh also brings this additional perspective to his players. Josh lives in Portage with his wife of 26 years and his 4 children.
Bethany is from a small town in Missouri and has been playing softball since she was 10 years old. Bethany has played in tournaments all over the country, including playing in National tournaments in California, Florida, and Colorado. In high school, she was a four-year varsity starter. Her batting average in high school was consistently over .400. She’s currently in the Missouri state record books for consecutive at bats without a strikeout with 116, and she personally went undefeated as a pitcher her Junior year. She won all-district, all-sectional, and all-state honors as well as graduating with over a 4.0 GPA. She’s played every position on the field competitively, but ultimately won a full-ride scholarship to play D2 softball to pitch and play outfield at Lindenwood University where she hit .350. In college, Bethany was a 3 time All-America Scholar Athlete and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. She then went on to law school at UW-Madison and graduated in the top 15% of her class. While at UW, she worked with the softball team, assisting with practices and analyzing film. She’s actively giving lessons to girls around Baraboo, and she has been running winter skills clinics in Baraboo for the past two years. She’s entering her first year as the Varsity Head Coach for Baraboo High School.
Austin has over 20 years experience playing and coaching baseball. Austin is currently the coach for 13U and 15U Wisconsin Wolfpack teams. Entering his 3rd season with Wolfpack. He believes todays players need a good blend of “old school”and “new school” techniques and styles. Austin is a member of the ABCA where he is able to attend multiple different seminars and conventions throughout the year to stay up to date on the latest trends within the game. As an ever growing student of the game Austin enjoys absorbing as much information as possible from different programs and coaches around the area. As a lifelong catcher, he looks for many new tools and techniques to impact the youth at this position. Austin believes film analysis is a wonderful tool to use in order to break down each individual player through each step of the process.
Four year starter in high school, two time SCC All-Conference Catcher. Three year starter at Viterbo University where he finished second in career on base percentage only behind MLB All Star, Damian Miller. Brent also finished 5th in school history in walks, and managed a .307 career batting average. Brent was also a two time team captain serving his junior and senior year for the V-Hawks. After his playing career, Brent spent one season as a student assistant coach for Viterbo where he worked with catchers and hitters. Brent would later become the pitching coach for Sparta High School, helping the Spartans claim their first regional title in 21 years when they defeated West Salem in 2021. Brent is entering his third season as the head coach for the Wisconsin Dells Chiefs. Brent is most confident with his ability to take complicated facets of the game and make them easier for younger minds to comprehend. Brent has a wide range of hitting drills that he used to improve the Chiefs team batting average to .330 this past season. Brent is a big believer in the mental part of the game of baseball, working on different strategies to win each pitch being just as important as any hitting or throwing drill we may be doing.
